Acceptable Use Policy

Angstep Ltd gives MSPs powerful tools — network monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and direct remote access to managed devices. With that comes responsibility. This policy sets out the rules.

Why this policy exists

Angstep Ltd's remote access capability gives authenticated users direct control over devices on a client's network. That capability is powerful in the right hands and dangerous in the wrong ones. This policy defines the right hands.

By creating an account you agree to this policy in full. Violations result in immediate account suspension with no refund.

Prohibited uses

You must not use the Angstep Ltd platform to:

  • Monitor without authorisation. You may only monitor networks and devices you own, or networks you are contracted to administer on behalf of their owner.
  • Access devices without permission. The remote access feature must not be used to connect to systems unless the device owner has explicitly authorised you to do so.
  • Resell or share access. You may not share, sublicense or resell access to the Angstep Ltd remote access infrastructure to third parties not covered by your account.
  • Attack or probe third-party systems. You may not use Angstep Ltd to conduct port scans, vulnerability probes, denial-of-service attempts or any other offensive activity against systems you do not own or administer.
  • Break the law. Any activity that violates the Computer Misuse Act 1990, UK GDPR, or equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction is strictly prohibited.
  • Disrupt the service. You may not take actions that degrade or disrupt the Angstep Ltd platform for other users.

MSP and multi-tenant responsibilities

If you use Angstep Ltd to manage networks on behalf of your own clients (MSP tier), you take on additional responsibilities:

  • You must ensure each client has explicitly authorised you to deploy monitoring agents on their devices before doing so.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of client data complies with UK GDPR and any applicable data processing obligations.
  • A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is required before you process client data through the MSP tier. Contact us at hello@angstep.co.uk to obtain one.

Consequences of violation

Immediate suspension

Violations of this policy will result in immediate account suspension without notice and without refund. In cases involving unlawful activity — particularly unauthorised computer access under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 — we reserve the right to refer the matter to the appropriate authorities.

We may also pursue civil remedies for any damages caused to Angstep Ltd or to third parties as a result of a policy violation.

Reporting misuse

If you believe someone is using Angstep Ltd in violation of this policy — including using it to access systems without authorisation — please report it immediately to hello@angstep.co.uk. We take all reports seriously and will act quickly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be communicated by email to account holders. Continued use of the platform after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
